Kirk Cameron
I found another great reason to listen to BlogTalkRadio! There is a development going up across the road! The peaceful farm with its tranquil view has since been replaced by tractors, backhoes, Bobcats and rising mini mansions. My home office faces the destruction and even with the windows closed the noise pollution is distraction. Thank you BlogTalkRadio for giving me intelligent discussions to listen to (Nikki Starr, I’m talking to you, hon!) and keeping me from losing my sanity.
I’m not exaggerating when I tell you we have some awesome programming today. I’m sure you’ll agree too! Check it out:
(All times EDT)
- Kirk Cameron, that’s right Mike Seaver from the 80’s series Growing Pains, is all grown up and doing the family values things in a big way. (As you know, I’m all about finding good role models so that’s not a bad thing.) Kirk is visiting with Tamara Walker, the MomRN, to discuss his new film “Fireproof”. Tune in today at noon.
- Comedienne Margaret Cho is visiting with Rico and Paulie on Fruit Salad tonight at 10:30 p.m.
- Virginia Stanley, Director of Library Marketing at HarperCollins and Neal Wyatt, President of RUSA (Reference & User Services) at the American Library Association interview New York Times bestselling author Susan Elizabeth Phillips this afternoon at 3:00. Susan is the author of the “Natural Born Charmer” as well as numerous other romance novels including “Heaven Texas,” “It Had to be You” and “Lady Be Good.”
- On BlogTalkRadio Today at 2:00 p.m.,Tim Castleman of the Drive 55 Conservation Project visits followed by the latest headlines and gossip.
Don’t forget, all of our great programming is available on demand. Check out the On Air Schedule for a full listing of today’s BlogTalkRadio segments.
Have a great day. Listen while you work,
Deb

There are two more weeks until the unofficial end of summer. While that’s something most of us don’t want to ponder, we can look at the bright side. As it begins to get dark earlier and cooler during the day, we’ll have more time to spend by our laptops listening to BlogTalkRadio. And you don’t only have to listen while you’re surfing. BlogTalkRadio makes great background talk while cooking, cleaning, working out and more.
Here are today’s highlights: (As usual, all times EDT)
- George McFly himself, Crispin Glover is visiting This is Some Scene to talk about his variousm, and ecclectic, film projects 9:00 p.m.
- The BigFoot news continues. Steven Kulls will issue a statement to be followed by a roundtable discussion with Billy Willard and Becky Sawyer. That’s tonight at 9:00 p.m. on Sasquatch Detective Radio.
- Don’t forget your regular dose of insanity with the Midlife Gals at 7:00 pm.
Hope you’re having a great day!
Deb

What do Canadians, Christmas, contests and midlife crises have in common?
Nothing, of course.
But that didn’t stop us from rolling those highlights – and more – into one big fat edition of The Daily Mix.
Coming to you at 9 p.m. ET, this absolutely fabulous show answers such all-important questions as:
—What The Midlife Gals – those liquored-up, 50-something vixens from Austin, Texas – are gonna do to any caller who’s “lewd, lascivious, vulgar or perverted” on their new show.

Mike Farrell: Don’t boot those tired, poor huddled masses!
—What M*A*S*H star Mike Ferrell thinks Uncle Sam should do with all our illegal immigrants.
—Why Kiesha and Midnight, those wacky hosts of Canadians Rock, think karaoke should be an Olympic sport.
—Which Beatle used pop legend Jackie DeShannon to test-market his original composition.
—Whose voice sent Media Lizzy into a tizzy (hint: he feels her pain – and would like to feel more).
So don’t miss The Mix, hosted by everyone’s favorite pod jockey Shaun Daily, every Monday at 9 p.m. ET!

Internet Santa: Ho-ho-ho, merry August!
What could be better than a Christmas chat with Santa Claus?
Chatting with the jolly old gent all year ’round, that’s what.
Beginning today (yes, we know it’s nowhere near December), Internet Santa will be taking calls from boys and girls who want to get a jump on the Christmas rush.
But more importantly, he’ll be talking to them about troubles they may be having at home, in school, on the playground or in any other areas of life that require a little wisdom, touch of TLC or hearty ho-ho-ho to help keep them atop his - and everyone else’s - Nice List.
So don’t miss Talking with Santa Claus Live and In Person today at 11 a.m. ET – and every Saturday from now on.
